Annapolis Oncology Center's physicians have received extensive training in internal medicine, hematology and medical oncology. They bring their significant experience, compassion and understanding to each patient visit and look forward to supporting you and your family through this illness.
Annapolis Oncology Center employs over fifty individuals to assist you through all aspects of your care.
CLINICAL STAFF
Nurses
Our nurses have received specialized training in the care of the oncology and hematology patient. Our registered nurses all receive certification through the Oncology Nursing Society within one year of employment. They provide telephone triage, patient education and act as a liaison between patients and physicians. They work hand in hand with physicians as an integral part of your health care team.
Clinical Research Staff
Annapolis Oncology Center has developed a successful clinical research department. Our research coordinators and research nurse work closely with the physicians to bring the latest treatments and therapies to our patients through participation in clinical trials. Laboratory Staff
Annapolis Oncology Center is fortunate to have an on site clinical laboratory for specimen testing. The highly skilled phlebotomists and registered medical technologists offer years of experience. Most lab results will be available to discuss at the time of your visit with the physician. For your convenience, any test not performed in our office will be drawn and sent to the appropriate reference lab for you with a next day turn around time in most cases. Depending on your insurance requirements, there may be a fee for this service. Our caring and dedicated team strives to provide personal attention to meet or exceed our patients' expectations.
Medical Assistants
Our medical assistants work directly with the physicians and nurses with clinical aspects of a patient's care. They greet patients, check vital signs, escort patients to exam rooms, assist with procedures and man the prescription and result line.
ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF
Medical Secretaries
Our medical secretaries and new patient coordinator greet each patient and assist them with the registration process. Each medical secretary is responsible for scheduling appointments, completing necessary paperwork, scheduling outside tests and obtaining results.
Medical Records Staff
Prepare and maintain your medical information while you are under the care of our physicians according to HIPAA guidelines.
Patient Account Representatives
Annapolis Oncology Center 's patient account representatives file claims to your insurance carrier for services rendered in our office. They ensure all payments are properly reimbursed according to your benefits. Our insurance representatives also assist patients with follow-up on unpaid or denied claims.
Practice Administrator
Our practice administrator is directly responsible for all business related activities for the practice. The administrator also oversees all staff activities and functions to ensure optimal patient care. Working closely with our administrative assistant all opportunities for growth and development are explored.
